Champlin Park Softball Walks-Off White Bear Lake, Advances to Class AAAA State Championship
A walk-off RBI single from Ava Parent in the bottom of the seventh sent Champlin Park softball to the program’s first-ever state championship game.
Parent’s walk-off came with basses loaded and two outs. The University of Wisconsin commit delivered a base hit in the gap to left field to give the Rebels a 3-2 win.
Champlin Park had to rally against White Bear Lake. The Rebels were down 2-0 until Layla Nguyen sent a 2-run double to left field in the fifth inning.
Marissa Rothenberger earned the win in the circle for Champlin Park, throwing three strikeouts and allowing seven hits in seven innings pitched.
The Rebels will face Bloomington Jefferson in the championship Friday morning at the University of Minnesota.
