Champlin Park Softball Opens Playoffs with Shutout Win
The Champlin Park softball team pulled away for an 8-0 win over Irondale in the first round of the Section 5AAAA tournament.
Ava Abrahamson pitched a two-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts for the Rebels and also went 3-for-4 with two runs batted in.
Lauren Heltemes was 3-for-3 with two runs batted in, and Marissa Rothenberger was 2-for-4.
Champlin Park meets Spring Lake Park in the second round Thursday.
