CCX Sports Spotlight: Makhi Clark and Payton Young, Osseo Track and Field
In this week’s CCX Sports Spotlight, John Jacobson profiles Osseo track and field standouts Makhi Clerk and Payton Young.
The two seniors have been part of a combined five school records this spring in sprints and relays and also for Young, in the girls’ long jump.
Makhi and Payton have in the Orioles’ program for several years and both say they dedicated themselves to hard work and continued improvement in the sport after their sophomore seasons.
Young won the Class AAA long jump earlier this week with the rest of the state AAA finals set for Saturday.
Neither has committed to a college yet but they each say they are leaning toward Minnesota State-Mankato.
