Takeda Makes $45M Investment in Brooklyn Park Campus
Takeda Pharmaceuticals has completed a $45 million investment at its Brooklyn Park campus, according to an announcement this week by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
The investment is expected to help the company increase production capacity and create new jobs.
The governor invited a Japanese trade delegation to Minnesota last year, which included a stop at Takeda’s campus along Highway 610 in Brooklyn Park.
“By enacting policies to make Minnesota the top state to operate a business and live, work, and raise a family, we’ve attracted investment and built a strong reputation for Minnesota business on the global stage,” said Walz in a statement announcing the Takeda news. “We’ll continue working with our partners in Japan and across the globe to strengthen these business ties and expand opportunities for Minnesotans.”
Walz’s office says the number of Japanese companies operating in Minnesota has increased since 2019 from 35 to nearly 50 companies that operate at more than 120 locations across the state.
Governor Walz is in Tokyo this week hoping to further boost the state’s economic partnership with Japan. Brooklyn Park Mayor Hollies Winston is also taking part in the trip.
Takeda is one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the United States.
