Plymouth Receives Cleanup Grant for Dundee Nursery Redevelopment Plan
The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) has awarded $102,650 in cleanup funding to the city of Plymouth to help with a planned redevelopment of the Dundee garden center site.
Dundee Nursery and Landscaping, located along Highway 55 at Rockford Road, is proposed to become a mixed-use development featuring more than 200 apartments and a 70,000-square-foot medical office building.
According to an environmental site assessment, the land has groundwater and soil contamination, which includes petroleum and other contaminants. Funding from DEED’s Contamination Cleanup Grant Program will pay for up to 75 percent of the costs to remove contamination.
Dundee remains in operation. According to its website, the company “will be relocating in the area.”
