Edinburgh USA Golf Course Restaurant To Get New Operator
Edinburgh USA, Brooklyn Park’s destination golf course, will get a new operator of its clubhouse restaurant.
The city and D’Amico Catering mutually agreed to end their agreement at the end of the year due to “poor financial performance,” city documents revealed.
D’Amico Catering opened The Brooklyn restaurant in 2019 following a remodel.
A new operator will take over Jan. 1.
The city’s Economic Development Authority is expected to approve an agreement with the new operator at its Oct. 21 meeting.
A selection panel that included EDA commissioners, the golf course manager and city leaders chose Green Haven Tavern LLC, owned by Jason Tollette, after seeking proposals.
Tollette’s company runs Tavern at Green Haven at Green Haven Golf Course in Anoka.
The panel made its selection based on four primary factors: experience/reputation, restaurant concept, financial performance and safety record.
City documents showed that revenues at Tavern at Green Haven grew 300 percent since opening in 2018.
The city also plans to have a new operating model at Edinburgh USA with the new company focusing solely on restaurant services and city staff taking over event bookings, which would allow any licensed food caterer to service events in banquet rooms. D’Amico Catering did both.
“Staff believe that the success of this change to an open catering operation similar to that at the Community Activity Center will help expand the market for more Brooklyn Park residents and businesses to host events at Edinburgh USA,” the EDA documents read.
It’s not yet known what will happen to The Brooklyn restaurant name or what kind of menu changes will occur.
