Guilty Verdict for Highs Gang Member in Brooklyn Park Murder Case
A Coon Rapids man has been convicted of second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder in connection with a 2024 shooting in Brooklyn Park.
Marquan Tucker, 21, has been found guilty of the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Ramone Blue in the parking lot at the Starlite Center.
Tucker, who authorities say is a member of the Highs gang, shot Blue and another man as they came out of the Trendsetters clothing store.
According to the criminal complaint, on Dec. 7, 2024, Tucker traveled to the mall in a stolen black BMW.
When Blue and another man exited the store, Tucker fired 16 gunshots.
Blue was hit twice and killed. Meanwhile, the second victim was shot in the neck and leg but survived.
According to court documents, Tucker was also charged in a 2023 homicide and was involved in a 2022 shooting at the Mall of America.
He’s scheduled to be sentenced on June 10.
“This was a senseless tragedy that took the life of a young person and forever altered the lives of so many others,” Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said. “My thoughts are with the family and loved ones of everyone affected. Today’s conviction holds Mr. Tucker accountable for his actions and ensures he cannot cause further harm to the community. I’m grateful to the jury for their service and to our trial team and victim support staff for their tireless work.”
