In the bowling world, all eyes are on Brooklyn Park.
The Professional Bowler’s Association (PBA) is hosting the World Series of Bowling in Brooklyn Park this year, bringing the sport’s top competitors to town hoping for a perfect game.
“There’s a lot of points, there’s a lot of titles, there’s a lot of money,” said three-time champion EJ Tackett. “This is the biggest two weeks of the year for us every single season.”
Tackett, who is widely considered to be the PBA’s top bowler, aims to defend his title at Bowlero in Brooklyn Park.

The venue is hosting about 120 of the best bowlers in the world. They’re competing for a $100,000 top prize, along with bragging rights.
One of the bowlers is making his return to the Twin Cities. Nick Pate grew up in Inver Grove Heights but moved to Florida about two years ago.
“I drove up from Myrtle Beach,” Pate said. “It’s about a 20-hour drive. I split it up over two days and the second day, I was just like, ‘wow,’ I’m actually excited to come back to Minnesota and bowl in a PBA event, because there’s only been since I’ve lived here two, and they were regionals which are below what we’re bowling now. So there’s a lot of excitement.”
The World Series of Bowling takes place in Brooklyn Park through May 6, then heads to another bowling alley in Lakeville.
Bowling fans can watch the event in person or can stream it on CBS.
