The Brooklyn Opens at Edinburgh USA Golf Course

The new restaurant at Edinburgh USA in Brooklyn Park is open for business.

The Brooklyn had a soft launch on Saturday and officially opened on Monday.  The eating spot is described as an American bistro restaurant.

“We have a lot of sandwiches and salads, especially for lunch to take care of the golf course,” said Larry D’Amico who runs The Brooklyn. “Then at dinner time, we have entrees to compliment the salads and sandwiches. It seems to be working quite well.”

New look

The Brooklyn Park city council voted to invest $1.5 million in updating the clubhouse, banquet hall and event space in hopes to reinvigorate the property. Girvan Grille has been closed since January while the restaurant got the first major renovation since 1991.

“It looks like something that would be in California on the coast,” D’Amico said. “Maybe at Pebble Beach. This is one of those restaurants at that resort. This is what it reminds me of. It’s very attractive.”

The restaurant is open to Saint Andrew’s Club members and the public. Besides breakfast, lunch and dinner, the restaurant also serves a Sunday brunch and a happy hour.
