Cooper High School Math Instructor Named Semifinalist for Teacher of the Year
It’s down to 31 semifinalists for Education Minnesota’s annual Teacher of the Year honor.
One of those semifinalists hails from Cooper High School in New Hope.
Garrett Bruce, a math teacher at Cooper, was named a semifinalist by an independent selection panel.
Bruce was selected from an initial field of 142 candidates from across the state.
In a social media post, Bruce said being selected a semifinalist “was certainly a surprise and to be honest, doesn’t quite feel real.”
“There was a lot involved in the process and certainly thankful for the individuals who helped and supported me along the way,” added Bruce.
Ten finalists will be selected in mid-March. The 2025 winner will be announced in May.
