Wayzata Girls Soccer Advances to State Semifinals

Nicole Mahabadi and Davy Mokelke scored goals to lead the Wayzata girls’ soccer team to a 2-0 win over Lakeville North in the quarterfinals of the state Class AAA tournament.

The Trojans scored one goal in each half, both coming off corner kicks by Grace Estby.

Sophia Alvarez stopped every shot she faced in net for the shutout.

Wayzata (19-1-0) plays in the tournament semifinals next Tuesday at 10:00 am at U.S. Bank Stadium against the winner of Thursday’s Maple Grove-White Bear Lake match.
