Wayzata Girls Soccer Advances to State Title Game
The top-seeded and unbeaten Wayzata girls soccer team defeated Prior Lake 2-1 Wednesday morning in the Class AAA state tournament semifinals to qualify for Friday’s state title match.
Wayzata (16-0-2) trailed 1-0 at halftime as Teagan Jurek scored for the Lakers in the first half.
But Ella O’Keefe and Gianna Ross scored in the second half for the Trojans to give them the win.
Wayzata plays Stillwater Friday at 8:00 am at U.S. Bank Stadium in the AAA final.
It is the 16th state championship game appearance for Wayzata, who won their eighth state title in 2024.
