Wayzata Boys Tennis Wins Second Consecutive Section 5AA Title
In a meeting of the past two class AA boys tennis state champions, Wayzata took down Orono by a score of 6-1 to claim their second straight Section 5AA championship.
The Trojans dominated in doubles play, winning all three of their matches in two sets.
At first singles, Aaron Beduhn (6-7, 6-2, 10-6) won a hard-fought battle against Hugh Perrill in a match-up of two of the top players in the state.
Wayzata senior Tanay Panguluri clinched the Trojans section title victory with his 6-2, 6-4 match win over Owen Skanse.
The state boys tennis tournament takes place June 4-7. Wayzata will look to repeat as class AA state champions.
