Wayzata Boys Tennis Sweeps Orono to Win 5AA Title
The Wayzata boys tennis team repeated as section champions Tuesday with a 7-0 win over Orono in the 5AA final.
In a match-up of the section’s top two seeds, the Trojans won five of the matches in straight sets with number one singles player Ethan Turunen and Shreyas Iyer at second singles both winning their matches in a third set super tiebreaker.
Wayzata is the three-time defending state champion in Class AA.
The AA state tournament is June 2-5 at Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis.
