Wayzata Boys Tennis Rallies to Win AA Team Championship
The Wayzata boys tennis team survived their toughest test of the season to win the Class AA team title, beating Edina 4-3.
The Trojans, who won their quarterfinal and semifinal matches 7-0, trailed Edina 3-2 in team points but both Ethan Turunen at first singles and Nolan Beduhn at third singles won in three sets to give the Trojans their fourth straight state championship.
Wayzata also won team points at fourth singles (Rishi Ranjith) and first doubles (Jacob Salisbury and Tommy Prondzinksi).
Singles and doubles state tournament play continues through Friday.
