Wayzata Boys Basketball Outlasts Hopkins in Section 6AAAA Showdown
For a fifth straight season, Wayzata boys basketball is marching on to the class AAAA state tournament.
The Trojans took down their rival Hopkins 76-72 in a back-and-forth Section 6AAAA final.
Christian Wiggins led the Trojans with 31 points, including six made three-pointers.
Issac Olmstead added nine points and hit two key back-to-back threes late in the second half.
Wyatt McBeth was the only other Trojan in double figures, scoring 11.
Anthony Smith III scored a team-high 21 points for the Royals. Both Davey Hart and JJ Semanko added 16.
Hopkins ends their season with 26-2 record– both of their losses came against the Trojans.
