Rogers Softball Holds on to beat Wayzata
The Rogers softball team built a 7-0 lead but then had to hang on to beat Wayzata 7-6 Wednesday.
The Royals scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning and added two more in the third before the Trojans answered with six runs in the top of the fourth.
Ella Freeman and Alexa Miller each drove in two runs for the Trojans in the inning.
Neither team scored the rest of the way as Rogers improved its season’s record to 12-7 while Wayzata falls to 8-9.
