Wayzata Softball Cruises to Win in Section 6AAAA Opener
The Wayzata softball team took care of business against Minneapolis Washburn in the opening round of the Section 6AAAA tournament, beating the Millers 7-0.
Wayzata is the number two seed for the tournament and Washburn is seventh.
The Trojans scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning to take control, then added one in the second and two in the third.
Lexi Drasher drove in three runs for the Trojans.
Pitcher Ella Goodnature threw a one-hitter with 15 strikeouts for the Trojans.
Wayzata now faces Armstrong in winner’s bracket play Thursday.
