Wayzata Softball Shut Out in Section 6AAAA vs. Edina
The Wayzata softball team dropped their Section 6AAAA winner’s bracket final game to Edina 2-0 at Pamela Park on Friday.
The Trojans’ Ella Goodnature and the Hornets’ Ella Meyer were both efficient from the circle in the first four innings, allowing no runs.
Edina finally got on the board in the fifth with RBI singles from Avery Cox and Lauren Ganley.
In the sixth, Goodnature hit a ground ball that got through to the outfield and the Trojans had bases loaded with one out, but Meyer locked down with a strikeout and a pop fly to end the threat.
Wayzata will now face St. Louis Park in an elimination game.
The winner will need to beat Edina twice to win the Section 6AAAA title.
