Maranatha Boys Soccer Enjoying State Tournament Run
The Maranatha Christian Academy boys soccer team is in the state tournament for the first time, and they’re making the most of it.
The Mustangs won just five regular season games but came on strong to win the Section 5A tournament.
In their first-ever state tournament game, MCA beat top seed and defending champion Southwest Christian 3-2.
It’s a young team with several 8th and 9th graders and even a 7th grader.
Maranatha still has a losing record but they are playing well at the right time.
The Mustangs meet St. Paul Academy at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at U.S. Bank Stadium in the class A semifinals.
