MSHSL Makes Decisions on Fall Sports 2020
MSHSL Moves 2020 Prep Football and Volleyball to Spring
The Minnesota State High School League Tuesday approved athletic competition this fall for athletes in cross country, girls’ swimming and diving, girls’ tennis and boys and girls soccer.
2020 High school football and volleyball seasons have been moved to spring with practices scheduled to start in mid-March.
The League’s Board of Directors approved the plans for cross country, swimming and tennis approved first followed by soccer.
Motions to allow football and volleyball to play this fall failed with both moved to later in the school year.
All sports will see reductions in the number of games, matches or meets played with post-season plans to be determined.
As for traditional spring sports, the League approved a “fourth season” for 2021 that will run from early May until early July.
