Maple Grove Girls Lacrosse Poised for Strong Season
With five consecutive section titles and two straight Northwest Suburban Conference championships, the Maple Grove girls’ lacrosse team believes its success can continue in 2022.
Last season the Crimson finished with a 15-2 record. Though the team lost three of its top four scorers from 2021 and its starting goalie Maple Grove should again be one of the top teams in the conference.
Among the top returning players are attacks Dani Key, Ella Olson and Sosie Van Wyk, midfielders Jamie Stolp and Leah Muscatello and transfer goalie Emma Crater.
The Crimson move from Section 8 to Section 5 this season which should provide more of a challenge.
Section 5 includes Benilde-St. Margaret’s, a fourth-place finisher at state a year ago, plus perennial contender Blake.
Maple Grove hosts Osseo-Park Center in the season opener for both teams Monday night at 7:00 p.m.
