Maple Grove Girls Lacrosse Drops State Tournament Opener
Maddy Richert scored six goals to lead the Stillwater girls lacrosse team to a 16-10 win over Maple Grove in the state tournament quarterfinals.
Richert broke a 5-5 tie late in the second quarter, scoring the final three goals of the half to give the Ponies the lead for good.
Ryley Dunn scored three goals for Maple Grove with Lillian Iverson and Hadley Kudla netting two each.
Rayna Malmberg and Grace Young each scored three goals for the Ponies.
Stillwater (14-2) plays Park (17-0) in tournament semifinals Thursday afternoon.
Maple Grove (13-4) meets Elk River/Zimmerman in the consolation semifinals Thursday morning at Eden Prairie High School.
