Maple Grove Girls Lacrosse Advances to Section Final
The Maple Grove girls lacrosse team advanced to the Section 8 final with a 15-5 win over St. Michael-Albertville in the semifinals.
The Crimson built a 7-3 halftime lead, then dominated the second half to pull away for the win.
Maddi Bast had four goals and an assist for the Crimson, with Ella Olson adding three goals and an assist.
Maple Grove hosts Elk River-Zimmerman for the section title Wednesday.
The Crimson edged the Elks 9-8 early in the regular season.
Maple Grove has won the past four Section 8 titles (there was no season in 2020 due to COVID-19).
