Maple Grove Boys Soccer Headed to State Tournament
The Maple Grove boys soccer team is headed to the state tournament.
The Crimson beat Brainerd 2-1 to win the Section 8AA championship Tuesday night.
Brainerd scored the only goal of the first half on a penalty kick.
Maple Grove tied it on Caleb Robinson’s header goal off a corner kick by Chris Frantz.
Late in the second half, Will Zaver put a good shot on goal and Max Bartee knocked the rebound in for the game winner.
Maple Grove will make its seventh appearance in the state tournament.
