Maple Grove Boys Soccer Falls to Woodbury in State Semifinals
The Maple Grove boys soccer team lost 4-2 to Woodbury in the state class AAA semifinals Tuesday morning at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Xander Anderson started the scoring early in the match for Woodbury, chipping a shot past charging Crimson goalkeeper Holden Waldrum.
Carter Sheard buried a shot into the top corner late in the first half for the Crimson to tie the game 1-1 at halftime.
Anderson scored two in a row for the Royals in the second half as they went on to the win.
Caleb Manse scored Maple Grove’s second goal.
Maple Grove lost 1-0 to Andover in the third place game. The Crimson finish the season with a record of 18-3-0.
Woodbury will face Wayzata for the championship Friday morning.
