Maple Grove Boys Soccer Eliminates Osseo
The Maple Grove boys soccer team eliminated rival Osseo with a 2-0 win in the Section 8AA quarterfinals.
Maple Grove dominated the game, and took a 1-0 lead on a header by Caleb Robinson off a Charlie Miller free kick.
That goal came just over 26 minutes into the game.
Despite some good chances, the Crimson couldn’t put another goal away for a long time.
Osseo got just one scoring chance but it was a good one.
Matthew Henderson nearly tied the game with just under ten minutes left but Tyler Wernz made a huge save for Maple Grove.
Damon Humphrey added an insurance goal, scoring directly off a corner kick.
Maple Grove hosts Moorhead in the Section 8AA semifinals Saturday afternoon.
