Maple Grove Boys Soccer Advances to State Final
The Maple Grove boys soccer team advanced to the state Class AAA title game for a second straight year with a 3-1 win over Eagan in Wednesday’s state semifinals.
Gannon Ferrens scored early in the first half to give the Crimson the lead. Caden Hanson netted a goal for the Huskies to tie the match before halftime.
But second half goals from Ike Deuel and Parker Carlson were the difference for Maple Grove.
The Crimson (19-0-1) face Eagan (19-1-1) for the state title Friday morning at 8:00 at U.S. Bank Stadium.
The Crimson lost to Wayzata in last year’s final and are looking for the program’s first ever state championship.
