Local Gophers Softball Players Set for CWS
Local Gophers softball players are thrilled to be headed to the College World Series.
The University of Minnesota is making its first appearance in the NCAA era in the program.
Senior Maddie Houlihan of Plymouth, a Benilde-St. Margaret’s graduate, had some clutch hits in the super regional win over LSU.
Freshman Natalie DenHartog, a Hopkins grad, is having an outstanding first college season.
Third baseman Katelyn Kemmetmueller of Rogers and pitcher Sydney Smith of Maple Grove have also made key contributions.
The Gophers left for Oklahoma City, where they’ll begin play at the World Series Thursday.
