Champlin Park Volleyball Coach Comments on Move to Spring Season

The Minnesota State High School League announced that volleyball will be moved to the spring of 2021 due to COVID-19 concerns.

Champlin Park volleyball coach John Yunker says the move wasn’t a huge surprise considering the state of the pandemic.

Although his players were disappointed they won’t be starting their season August 17th, there is some relief to knowing the answer.

Yunker has built the Rebels into a power program, and he also coaches club volleyball.

The March to May schedule planned for the high school season may put it on conflict with the club season.

Many details need to be worked on, and Yunker is hopeful that club and high school programs will compromise on the issue.
