Rogers Rallies to Beat Champlin Park in Section 5AAAA Volleyball Final
The Champlin Park girls’ volleyball team lost its bid for a second straight section championship, losing in five sets to Rogers.
The Royals, new to Section 5AAAA this season moving from Section 8AAAA, are in the state tournament for the fourth time in the past five seasons.
The Rebels (23-9) won the first two sets 25-11 and 25-21 before the Royals (25-7) easily won the third and fourth sets- 25-12 and 25-14.
The fifth set was back and forth with the Royals prevailing 15-13.
Rogers will find out on Sunday their quarterfinal round opponent in the state tournament, which begins Wednesday at Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul.
