Champlin Park Girls Lacrosse Rallies from Down 5-0, Scores Late to Knock Off Maple Grove
Lauren Schindlbeck’s game-winning goal with 32 seconds left in the fourth quarter sealed a 10-9 win for Champlin Park girls lacrosse over Maple Grove in the Section 5 semifinals.
The Crimson raced out to a 5-0 lead in the first quarter, but the Rebels kept chipping away and cut the deficit down to one at the half.
Champlin Park took their first lead of the game midway through the third quarter after an Ella Engstrom goal, but Maple Grove tied the game back up with 3:30 left in regulation.
Schindlbeck’s heroics in the final minute punched the Rebels’ into the section championship, where they’ll play Benilde-St. Margaret’s.
Maple Grove ends its season with an 11-3 record.
