Champlin Park Baseball Edges Top Seed Mounds View in Extra Innings
The Champlin Park baseball team advanced to the championship game of the Section 5AAAA baseball tournament with a 1-0, eight-inning win over top-seeded Mounds View.
Alex Berg’s eighth-inning single drove in Rhys George with the game’s only run with pitchers Donovan Vendel and Tanner Wylie combining to pitch a shutout.
Champlin Park (18-6) will host either Spring Lake Park, Maple Grove, or Mounds View Thursday at 5:00 pm for the section championship.
The Rebels have no losses in the double elimination tournament while the other three, who all play on Tuesday, have one section loss each.
