Benilde-St. Margaret’s Girls Lacrosse Edges Maple Grove for Section 5 Title
The Benilde-St. Margaret’s girls lacrosse team is headed back to the state tournament after beating Maple Grove 6-4 in the Section 5 championship game.
It’s the first loss of the season for Maple Grove.
The host Crimson jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but BSM answered quickly and scored the next four goals on the way to a 5-3 halftime lead.
Each team scored just once in the second half as goalies Brooke Nelson (BSM) and Emma Crater (MG) made several key stops.
Benilde will make its third straight state tournament appearance.
