Woman Bystander Injured in Brooklyn Park Shooting
Brooklyn Park police continue to investigate a shooting that occurred Wednesday evening in which a woman bystander was injured, police said.
Officers responded at about 5 p.m. Wednesday to a report of shots fired on the 6300 block of Zane Ave N. While en route, a 911 caller confirmed a woman was shot in the lower body and driven to a nearby hospital.
During a preliminary investigation, police determined that two people had exchanged gunfire at each other from across the roadway. Police later interviewed the woman shot at the hospital. They say she is “most likely a bystander unrelated to the incident.” The woman’s injuries are considered non-life threatening.
Police have not made any arrests nor have they identified any suspects at this time.
