Residents Get to Taste, Tour Golden Valley
What if all the restaurants in town were in one place so you could sample them all? That’s exactly what happened Thursday night at the Taste and Tour of Golden Valley.
“It’s a way to promote the businesses of Golden Valley. We have 17 businesses participating today,” explained Bryan Palmer. “It’s free to the public.”
The Golden Valley Rotary Club organized the event that drew almost 500 people Thursday night. Participants could check in, get a passport and visit all the booths to get a stamp in their passport. Then, they are entered in a drawing for a prize.
One highlight was a fundraiser for PRISM where participants got a chance to dunk Golden Valley Mayor Shep Harris.
Judging by how wet the mayor was, it was a pretty good fundraiser. The dunk tank raised $250 for PRISM and the event itself raised more than $1200 that will go back into the community.
