New Hope Appoints New Police Chief
New Hope has appointed a new police chief. Tim Hoyt will take over the job Nov. 9, contingent upon a successful background check.
About Tim Hoyt
Hoyt began working at the New Hope Police Department in 2006. He was promoted to sergeant in 2011. Hoyt has also overseen NHPD’s field training program since 2012 and K9 program since 2014. He previously served with Eau Claire, Augusta and Chippewa Falls, Wis., police departments holding the ranks of reserve deputy, patrol officer, SWAT and detective. He also worked on the West Metro Drug Task Force investigating controlled substance crimes on a state and federal level.
Hoyt takes the place of Chief Tim Fournier, who retired Oct. 1.
Sergeant Hoyt’s promotion to police chief will be effective Nov. 9.
