New Gym Discover Strength Opens in Maple Grove

A couple’s passion for fitness ignited a dream that is now opening on Main Street in Maple Grove. Discover Strength, a fitness franchise, is the latest boutique gym opening up this month.

“It’s a scheduled workout,” said Brad Stanke.

Stanke is owner along with his wife, Shannon. Both are passionate about the workout format, a 30-minute full body strength class with an expert trainer.

The goal is to get to muscle failure with the exercises for peak performance gains. Workouts are twice a week.

“If you’re busy and you don’t have a lot of time. You can do a really good workout in a short amount of time,” said Stanke. “I fell in the love with the organization five years ago when I started training.”

It’s also how Stanke and his wife fell in love. Both were Discover Strength clients before they became gym owners.

“I’ve been in their shoes. I know what’s it like to start from ground zero and work your way up and develop and grow just getting introduced to strength training to taking it to stepping on stage for a body-building competition and everything in between. I’ve been there,” said Stanke.

And he’s hoping more will see what they’re all about.

Said Stanke, “I just love and I know how important it is. And because I fell in love with it I’m just sharing that. Trying to help other people have that same kind of comprehension of what I went through to get here.”
