Maple Grove Teen Center Offers Daily Day Camp for Students Ages 8 to 13
Students across the state are heading back to school with either hybrid or distance learning. To alleviate stress for parents who work outside the home or just need a break, Maple Grove Teen Center is offering daily day camps for ages 8 to 13.
The program is for kids who are too old for day care but too young to stay home all day long by themselves.
Staff will assist youth with their school work and provide indoor and outdoor activities. Movies and video games are also available, but only after school work is complete.
Breakfast is provided, however students will need to bring their own lunch. Crystal Anderson, Maple Grove’s youth outreach coordinator said there’s a limit of 10 students each day.
“This would give them a chance to have a quiet space to do school work as well as have a little interaction during the day and basically so they’re not home being bored, playing video games and watching TV instead of doing their school work,” Anderson explained.
She said parents can choose any day they want their student to attend the program.
The teen center is located inside the Maple Grove Community Center. The day camp begins on Sept. 14 and it’s $40 per day.
