FAIR School Crystal Hosts Final ‘Parade of Honor’
The FAIR School Crystal recently held a “Parade of Honor” along Adair Avenue to celebrate all of the students who made the honor roll, but the celebration was bittersweet.
About 220 students — roughly half the student body — met the 3.0 GPA threshold this quarter. For the last nine years, the event has served as a motivating factor for kids to earn good grades.
But with the school being repurposed due to budget cuts, this was the final time parents, students and teachers will come together for the Parade of Honor.
“It is just a great community piece that shows the unity that we have built within this school,” said Zoraba Ross, the principal of FAIR School Crystal, when asked what he’ll miss most about the event. “So many of the parents talk about the culture and the climate that we’ve built, and we have. We think we’ve done a pretty good job. And you know, we tell every parent, we’re not a perfect school, but doggone it, we think we’re pretty close. And each year we strive to get better.”

More than 200 students from the FAIR School Crystal marched down Adair Avenue for the final “Parade of Honor” on April 24.
When the school year concludes, the students will move to either Plymouth or Sandburg middle schools.
FAIR School Crystal will be used for administrative offices, the Robbinsdale Virtual Academy and Robbinsdale Academy-Highview.
