Developers Break Ground on New Brooklyn Park Affordable Housing Project
Brooklyn Park will soon be home to 350 new apartment units located along Highways 610 and 169.
“When it’s done, it’s going to be comparable to any other market rate property in town, but available to families at an affordable rent level,” said Patrick Ostrom, managing development partner at Real Estate Equities.
Developers joined Brooklyn Park City leaders Friday morning to officially break ground on the Decatur Landing apartment complex.
The majority of the units will include two and three bedrooms with high quality finishes, granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances.
The rent at Decatur Landing will be available to families whose incomes range from 30 percent to 70 percent of the area median income. Online listings have the price of monthly rent ranging between $718 to $1,798 a month.
“It’s such a high-quality project,” said Tim Gladhill, Brooklyn Park’s director of community development. “You wouldn’t know that it’s not market rate if you didn’t know that driving by. So, I think with all of those different pieces to that recipe, it’ll be a great complement to the area; being adjacent also to the city of Osseo and city of Maple Grove as well.”
The project consists of two buildings. Construction on the first building should be complete by July, while the other should be finished in December of 2025.
