Woman Killed in Brooklyn Park Hit-and-Run Crash: State Patrol
The Minnesota State Patrol continues to investigate a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian crash that killed a woman during the early morning hours Tuesday in Brooklyn Park.
According to the patrol, the crash occurred at about 1:22 a.m. on Highway 252 and 73rd Avenue North. The striking vehicle left the scene, police said.
The State Patrol said the woman was walking on the right shoulder of southbound Highway 252 between Brookdale and 73rd avenues when she was struck.
“Two witnesses, who were known to the pedestrian, were present in a vehicle on the shoulder and were attempting to convince the female to get into the vehicle. At that time, a dark gray Toyota Rav4 traveling at a high rate of speed in the right lane struck and killed the pedestrian,” the State Patrol said in a news release.
The woman, 25, died from her injuries. Her name has not been released.
State Patrol investigators are looking for a dark gray 2016-2019 Toyota RAV4 with the following details:
- Front passenger-side bumper damage
- Missing passenger-side mirror
- Missing passenger-side fog lamp
- Damaged passenger-side door rain guard
