Couple Killed in New Hope House Fire ID’d
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has identified the couple killed in a New Hope house fire on June 18. The ME reports says Michael Moliter, 63, and Sandra Moliter, 55, died from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries sustained in the fire.
The fire happened shortly before 11 a.m. on June 18 in the 4600 block of Aquila Avenue in New Hope. A neighbor noticed black smoke billowing out, but couldn’t immediately identify the source.
“I thought fire pit, maybe a car on fire in a driveway, not someone’s house on fire,” said Shannon Krizanac during an interview with CCX News in June.
The ME report ruled the manner of death an accident. Authorities haven’t said how the fire started.
