Brooklyn Park’s First Taproom, Blue Wolf Brewing, Closes
Brooklyn Park’s first brewery and taproom closed permanently over the weekend. Blue Wolf Brewing Co. opened in 2018, but faced what owner Mike Campbell called “a rollercoaster” of restrictions and regulations during the pandemic.
A Facebook post on Saturday morning read, “Thank you for the support, love, and friendship over the years. We will miss you as the sun has set on Blue Wolf Brewing.”
The website said the permanent closing of the brewery was Friday, November 12 at 9 p.m.
CCX News previously spoke with owner Mike Campbell on how the brewery had to completely alter its business plan last fall after a second round of COVID-19 restrictions forced all taprooms to temporarily close indoor service. Blue Wolf then changed from a taproom to a wholesale operation.
According to a University of Minnesota Extension report, breweries and taprooms lost nearly $200 million last year due to the pandemic.
