UPDATE: Brooklyn Park Public Works Director Indicted on Alleged Sex Crimes
Prosecutors in Georgia are advancing their court case against the city of Brooklyn Park’s public works director Dan Ruiz, who has been accused of committing several sex crimes.
Ruiz was arrested by Atlanta police officers last September on accusations of rape, aggravated sodomy, false imprisonment and battery – family violence.
He was recently indicted on those same charges in Fulton County Superior Court.
Ruiz has worked for the city since 2002.
“Dan Ruiz is currently on paid administrative leave and has resigned from City employment as of June 27, 2025,” said a city of Brooklyn Park spokesperson regarding his employment status.
Court documents show that he’s scheduled to be arraigned and enter a plea in the case in June.
An attorney for Ruiz previously denied the charges in a statement to CCX News.
