UPDATE: Brooklyn Park Police Arrest Bus Driver in Hit-and-Run Death
UPDATED March 17, 2:53 p.m. to indicate there has been an arrest in the case
Brooklyn Park police announced Tuesday afternoon the arrest of a school bus driver who fatally struck a woman Monday morning before leaving the scene.
Detectives with the Brooklyn Park Police Department and the Minnesota State Patrol located the school bus involved. The male driver is in police custody pending charges for criminal vehicular homicide.
Officers responded to the intersection of Humboldt Avenue and Meadowood Drive at 6:49 a.m. Monday. When they arrived the found a woman lying in the street.
The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene, said Brooklyn Park Deputy Chief Mark Bruley.
