UPDATE: Brooklyn Park Police Say Missing Girl Found Safe

Brooklyn Park police announced Thursday evening that a missing 11-year-old girl was found safe. Police had issued an alert seeking the public’s help to locate Amina Rice-El, an 11-year-old girl who was placed under child protection services for her safety.

A missing persons alert was issued by Brooklyn Park police Wednesday afternoon.

At the time of the alert, police and Hennepin County Child Protection had also been unable to locate the girl’s mother, identified as Amirah Rice-El. 

“Hennepin County courts have ordered Amina be placed into the custody of child protection officials in the interest of child safety,” read the alert initially issued by Brooklyn Park police.
