Brooklyn Park Launches New Podcast

People who live in Brooklyn Park now have a new way to get information about what’s happening throughout the city.

“Podcasts have become a very popular way to communicate with people these days,” said Brooklyn Park City Manager Jay Stroebel. “And we developed the idea of having our own podcast, ‘We Are Brooklyn Park,’ as a way of sharing a little more about kind of what’s happening in City Hall, what’s happening out in the community, providing a little inside information about how city employees do their work, what all that means.”

Stroebel is the host of the new podcast. “We Are Brooklyn Park” will feature a variety of people from city staff members, business owners and community leaders.

The city will release new episodes every day the week of Sept. 21, and then put out new recordings every other Monday until December.

“We hope these podcasts celebrate the diversity of Brooklyn Park, everything that we have to offer,” Stroebel said. “From having a world class golf venue where we talk to Don Berry (golf pro at Edinburgh USA) to talking to the new president of North Hennepin Community College, to really getting a broad sense of what’s going on in Brooklyn Park, and kind of what to expect in the future.”

All of the episodes of “We Are Brooklyn Park” will be available on the city’s website and YouTube channel.
