New Hope Mayor John Elder Encourages Everyone to Enjoy Summer
New Hope Mayor John Elder encourages everyone to get out and enjoy the warm summer months in the city that has facilities and programs for the whole family to enjoy.
“The thing that makes New Hope great are great residents, great staff, and great businesses,” Mayor Elder told CCX Media’s Dave Kiser. “There is so much for people to do, whether it’s something at the performance center, whether it’s going to the pool, whether it’s engaging any of the other activities–we ask people to stay informed. Come on out and have fun.”
The New Hope Aquatic Center opens May 30th and 31st for a kick-off weekend, and then will be open every day from June 3 to August 23, except during a swim meet July 17-19. Elder said the pool drew 53,000 visitors last summer.
“It’s a vibrant area and somewhere families can go and just have fun,” said Elder.
Another family fun idea for the summer is the New Hope Farmers Market, open on Thursdays for its second season at New Hope Church.
“Last year, we had 38 vendors,” said Elder. “It’s a great community gathering.”
