Registration Open for New Hopes’s Playground Program
As the long days of summer approach, so does the search for ways to keep kids busy once school is out.
City of New Hope Recreation Supervisor Rachel Salzer said she hopes you’ll keep their parks in mind.

Liberty Park is one of two parks, along with Hidden Valley, that hosts New Hope’s Playground Program this summer for kids ages 3-12.
“City of New Hope has our Playground Program in the summer. It starts on June 15 this year,” said Salzer.
The Playground Program aims to keep kids ages 3 to 12 active and engaged at New Hope parks.
By offering two-day-a-week morning sessions and one-day-a-week afternoon options, with each session running for two and a half hours, staff have plenty of time to keep kids moving.
“In the 2 and a half hour chunk, parents are able to drop them off and kids just get to enjoy the nice day at the parks,” said Salzer.
The Playground program is happening in two locations, Hidden Valley Park and Liberty Park, giving kids plenty of room to run around.
“We bring out balls. We play different games and each week of camp is also themed, so it might be bug week, we might be making caterpillars our of egg cartons, different things like that so the staff pick some fun themes and keeps the kids engaged,” said Salzer.
A Win-win for Children and Caregivers
While the kids enjoy crafts, sports, and story time parents and caregivers can look forward to a little downtime.
“The playground program is such an awesome program because it not only lets kids gets kids out and play with their peers, but it also gives parents that little free time in their day as well,” said Salzer.
The Playground Program runs until the first week in August.
“Still plenty of space available, so get your kids signed up and get ready of a fun summer,” said Salzer.
The two-day-a-week session that runs about two weeks is $32 for New Hope residents and $39 for nonresidents.
The one-day-a-week session that runs about a month is $49 for New Hope residents and $56 for nonresidents.
